Desert ginko. 2012. Graphite, encaustic
and plant material on wood. 4″ x 4″
These pieces are drawn, painted and collaged with a combination of graphite, watercolor, encaustic, and plants from my garden. Plants are carefully manipulated, embedded in beeswax, and fused with a torch. The materials and process represent the beauty, fragility and co-existing vulnerability of the relationship we have with the natural environment.
